Art from around the world and around the corner

Annette Pate

A native of Summerville, South Carolina, near Charleston, longed to paint full-time. She was a Sunday painter all of her life until 1986 when she fulfilled her life long dream. She left her career with Eastern Airlines to become a professional artist. She has studied since that time with Elsie Dresch of Atlanta. “The impressionists are my inspiration.” Annette’s paintings express her fascination with sunlight and shadow through oils. The Southern landscape is her main inspiration for her impressionistic paintings of gardens, flowers, and landscapes. Since Annette summers in the artist colonies of Cape Ann Massachusetts it shows up in her work as well. Annette now resides in Georgia with her family of poets and artists. She is a juried member of the Atlanta artist club. Her work is in many private and corporate collections.
